The always exciting and often called crazy Chuck Mahoney with the Pete Hollebrand Trucking Special #53 At Fonda Speedway. This car was always fast and usually the best looking car in the field. Through the drivers door window, you can see the McCreedy owned, Bill Wimble driven #33 and over the back window is the #20 of owner/driver Otto Graham. One night at Fonda, during a red flag, I saw Chuck Mahoney full throttle this #53 car through a 50' long, 8' wide, 20' high wall of flame that officials were burning off after a crash and spill. Officials weren't too happy, the crowd went bizerk and I became an instant Chuck Mahoney fan. BTW,... if the Hollebrand name sounds somewhat familiar, Pete Hollebrand co-owned and sponsored the #38 of 6 time Nascar Modified Champion Jerry Cook for several years.
