Two time ('60', 61') Nascar Sportsman National Champion Bill Wimble. This car however, is the big cubic inch Pontiac powered coach he ran in the later 60's. Bill Wimble, along with Tiny Lund and Ernie Gahan are credited as the Hereos that pulled Marvin Panch from that infamous Daytona crash that nearly took his life. In the 60's, the #33 was the reason I went to Fonda Speedway every Saturday night. From 1960-'67, Wimble won 5 Fonda track Championships. If Bill Wimble had been born in the Carolina's instead of upstate NY, Mr. Petty would not have as many wins as he enjoys today. Just Sayin,......
