1962 Riverside GP - Dave MacDonald in first Z06 Corvette

gallery image
The first three Z06 Stingrays ever produced are lined up side by side and ready to do battle with the mighty Shelby Cobra. This was the first outing for both sports cars. Stingray #614 was driven by Bob Bondurant, #00 by Dave MacDonald and #8 by Jerry Grant. The red Cobra was driven by Billy Krause. To the left of the Cobra is Jay Hills' Porsche & Bruce McLaren's Sunbeam. I believe #66 is Ed Mackey's Lotus. Drivers meeting prior to LeMans style start. Amazingly both MacDonald & Krause retired due to a rear wheel falling off. Doug Hooper was race winner.
