I have several pictures like this, a car I dont recognize. I remember when the Winston Points meets would come to Eastside. Usually a two day show that brought cars from the region. I think I have pic or two of Royce Millers 82 Camaro from one of those meets.

I recall one of these that was very similar but the red was much more red and it indeed was white also.It was out of the Richmond area? And sported a healthy 'Hog' running around 9.60 at the time which was very quick for a 'whole car' at that time.If it is the same car?I had a bit of an experience with it myself in time trials,he was in the rh/grandstand lane and I was in a friends '64 GTO street car opposite him.My friends GTO was a hot street car in W'boro at the time.I had run some 14.00s previously and so that was the paring. When the amber lit we both left, and he truly left like a rocket!About the time i pulled 4th gear,he was in the traps and me the eighth mile marker. His top blew off at this time,I watched it as it shot up like what seemed like about 300'?And then it began its descent a twisting and turning and finally landing in the grass/mudd off to the rh side of track. It had to look pretty wild 'cause I barely lifted only to make certain it wasn't going to land on the track as I arrived. It didn't and in fact it beat me to its place on earth, and I still ran a 14.Seems to me that I went a 14.6 on that pass? His top looked pretty good considering,it looked as if the back glass/plexiglass was the only casulty as it had at least popped out. This may or may not be that car?If it is in addition to the RVA area,I think it was a more mature man and his wife all by themselves and the car looked pretty nice.He may have been 50 at the time and acted it.He raced it topless after that episode but it was not a regular at Eastside in my time.

Is that the one I was blabbing of?The preppy part fits to a T,I just was attemting to be a bit diplomatic this time-something I truly fail miserably at.I fit the redneck part big time.I used to back my baby blue '75 C-20 up close on that little knoll on spectator side and sit in lawn chairs on each side of my cooler, full of bar bottle Carling Black Labels.Redneck?Me?Shoe fits, huh?
