My Dad and his brother, Herb and Elmer Daniels, respectively raced Broadway. #13. They even raced once against Wendell Scott. Dad said he was the one of the most gentlemanly drivers he ever encountered.
Ed Harvey sold Dad his first engine and told him that if he won on Friday night, he could keep it, but if he lost, Ed was going to confiscate the engine and not refund Dad's cash. Dad won.
