One of the stories mentions Bill France would announce the Spartanburg race. Was he doing that on a regular basis with his barnstorming series?
Good question Dave. Not sure of other races where Big Bill worked the PA. Maybe others would know from races they attended in that era.Perhaps he did so simply because the race was scheduled on the 4th of July. With the race being rained out 2x, who knows if France stuck around to call the remainder of it on July 6th.
