when this picture was taken the person taking it was standing almost on top of the still that was under turn 4--that was the beginning of the end of our glorious track called Middle Ga Raceway. Some of my early great moments in racing were born right here. One I remember well was Skip Leonard built me a motor with a roller in it and it wasnt performing right so he said run it in 3rd gear and lets see -- i did and it screamed down the back stretch in qualifying - after qualifying there were 6 people up at booth filing protests - thats racing and thats -------------------------memories

Sad to see pictures like this. We recently lost Birmingham Speedway which was the 3rd oldest track in the nation.
