Model Car Contest '72

You could say, it was my first "win" at the race track. In 1972, after a couple of years of trying, I won the annual model car building contest. , in which contestants had to build a replica, of any of the cars, in any of the 6 divisions at the "Gate". The car I built was the #98 Carl Butt, a '56 Fairlane, which ran in the Tornado class, on Friday nights. My football jersey is a real giveaway of the year. The Miami Dolphin's perfect season. 1972. The following year, I began going in the pits, which BEGAN, my racing career.
