That's Charlie Jarzombek in the race he lost his life in. He was driving a brand new RE car.

That is Greg Sacks, he drove that car before Charlie J. did. Andy was that in 1983?

I hate to disagree with you, but that IS Charlie J. in 1987. Ernie Wilsberg always ran Troyer cars (the front bars of the roll cage ran parallel with the A-pillars on the body). And he never had the little checker board after the number UNTIL the picture of the car you have pictured there. That was a brand new Evans chassis (front bar of roll cage goes down at a 90 degree angle) and a slightly different paint scheme (the checker board graphic). It's one and only race was the Spring 87 race at Martinsville. Charlie J passed away that day. I have pictures from the accident that mirror the picture you have.

CHECK OUT MY Race pictures there is a 5 with sacks and a 5 with jerzombek both drivers ran same car and did an awsome job
