Car owner & builder Ernie Tuff stands beside his 1961 Ford Starliner the won the pole in 1964 at Daytona for the Permatex 259 with Fireball Roberts driving. LeeRoy Yarborough and Larry Frank also drove this car.

Speed Vision in the late 1990's had a program called Victory Lane with Dave Dispain which would show vintage stock car racing films. I managed to tape the 1967 Permatex 300 that Ernie's Ford was in and piloted by Leroy Yarbrough. This car was untouchable until a broken distributor put him out of the race a few laps into it. Jim Paschal went on to win by a narrow margin over Paul Goldsmith. Love the styling of the 61 Fords.
