This was the only year if I remember that AMC ever won a NASCAR race, I think it was at Dover.May be wrong does anyone else remember?

I think you will find that Bobby Allison won 4 of the 5 Nascar races the AMC won in its heyday

Adding to Johnny's statement Allison won at Ontario to end the 1974 season. The car failed post race for unapproved valve train parts. Nascar did the hand slap and moved on.He won three times in 1975 at Riverside and knocked off both Darlington races. Bobby cranked up the Matador again in 1977 but did not win that year.
