Now, if you were at
J.B. Day's annual
Riverbend Racing Museum Reunion in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday, you know what the number one topic of discussion was - the "dust up" between 26 year old
Kyle Busch and 65 year old
Richard Childress .
Okay, maybe dust up is a little too nice. Let's just say somebody got taken to school, and leave it at that.
Regardless, it was the topic of much discussion on Sunday, which leads us to this week's column over at
Georgia Racing History.com .
Over the years, there have been many examples of drivers getting themselves into situations on the race track only to have to finish the argument in the pits on in the infield after the race. That was back in the day when the drivers knew they had to deal with the situation themselves, and had to stand up not only for themselves if they expected to be able to compete in what was a very rough and tumble sport.
This week, we take a look at some of our favorite moments in NASCAR over the years that may have started with a thrown punch, but ended with a legendary story. You can read all about it this week over at
Georgia Racing History.com .
There are now only two days left until the cutoff for the fan vote for the next class to enter the NASCAR Hall of Fame. As we've been telling you, it's up to us to do our part to try to help the Georgia Gang get in this year!
Raymond Parks ,
Tim Flock and
Red Byron are all up again this year, and we need to make a statement and do all we can to get one or more of them in NASCAR's Hall of Fame this year. So, how can you do your part? Just go
here and place your vote for Mr. Parks, Tim and Red! You can only vote once an hour, so make sure your vote is heard! You have until June 12 to vote, so we've got a lot of work to do and not a lot of time to do it. For more information on the NASCAR Hall of Fame, go
here . Let's get the job done this year, and make a Georgia great a member of the 2012 induction class to the NASCAR Hall of Fame!
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week on June 13 in memory of Harry Melling (1945-1999).
Thanks everybody, and have a great week!
