We've got a an interview with one of the members of the 2010 class of inductees to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame this week over at
Georgia Racing History.com .
Back in 1998, Eddie Samples and Mike Bell had a chance to sit down and talk to racing pioneer Jack Etheridge at his home in Mableton, Georgia. Etheridge talked about his life, his racing career and the highs and lows of the early days of stock car racing. He talks about his run ins with fellow Hall of Fame members Roy Hall and Red Byron, as well as about some of the great races he took part in during his 20 year racing career.
Etheridge passed away back in 2000. Earlier this year, he was named as one of the 2010 inductees to the GRHOF. You can learn more about him in his own words over at
Georgia Racing History.com .
Also, we're putting out a call to anyone who might have any of Jack Etheridge's trophies, uniforms, helmets or other paraphernalia that they could loan to the Hall of Fame for the 2010 Inductees display. Anyone who has something that they would like to put on loan can contact us at raceinfoga@gmail.com
Please continue to keep Georgia Racing Hall of Fame member Jimmy Mosteller in your thoughts and prayers. Jimmy was been hospitalized last week, apparently suffering from a heart attack. Jimmy reported to be in good spirits, but he has more medical tests coming soon. Please keep everybody's "little bitty buddy" in your thoughts and prayers.
Many thanks to everyone who came out to Gresham Motorsports Park to help us salute Charlie Burkhalter, who we lost earlier this year. Many members of Charlie's family were on hand as Charlie Burkhalter, Jr. took laps around the half mile speedway in his father's honor. We want to thanks the folks at Gresham Motorsports Park and the entire Burkhalter family for allowing us to honor one of our fallen greats. We'll have photos for you soon.
Thanks to all, and have a great weekend!
