H. C. Pritchard of Sumter, S. C. puts a move on the unidentified driver in a Late Model Sportsman race at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Pritchard, who was known as the "Racing Grandpa" was a regular every Saturday night and picked up a win in a 100-lap main event.

Dargan, I can't recall the #5, either! But, do you remember a '37 Ford coach that was abandoned off Myrtle Beach's first turn? It was there through the mid '60's was black/white #76, its only other identification was "junior" painted on the door. ....If you've ever LEFT your race car at the track.............!! Always wondered what the rest of the story was!

Bobby,I've been trying to figure that one out for years. My best guess is that the car was driven by Junior Wilson from Columbia. I hope someone else will jump in with the facts.Jack
