I think the photo was taken at the old Fayetteville speedway ,looks like T.D.Welker's tire sales truck... on the back of photo should be aF code letter

No, Fayetteville had guard rails. If you look the only thing around the light poles is the mound of dirt Leland raceway is the only one that had that.

Yep this is Leland for sure. This may be Welkers tire truck but I do believe it is the John Boney tire truck from Belville in the background. Donald I have a picture of this car in primer as it was being built. I remember Johnny a little bit. He brought this car to Sherwodd Hewitt's houseon Van Buren Street inSunset Park to have some work done on it around 1975 or1976 seems like the time frame. Sorry to har of Johnny's passing. Wasn't there a drivernamed Mickey Hair that was related to you guys?

I went to Sunset Park Junior High in 79 before moving to Leland..been in the Navy for almost 30 years now and getting ready to retire. Hope I can carry on the family racing after I get settled down in one location..Good to hear from someone who remembers my dad on here.

"Ground Thumper" great name for a race car. Johnny Newton used to have one named the same that he ran at Rockingham and Dillon.
