Jeff, dirt can be consolidated with the stock car forum, easily. No problem. I know there's lots of 'Cup interest, but I think the site should still focus on the pre-1990 era. There's lots of 'modern' 'Cup sites already. Boats, road racing, etc. can be dropped.

W E L L ???? Was Pheonix exciting enough for you??

Current NASCAR

Johnny, didn't see any of the N-CAR race.......I was too busy watching a dirt track through the windshield of a '37 coupe, with RR.com's own Kenneth McGee breathing down my neck! We had our season opening event this past Saturday at Carolina (SC) Speedway.....what a BLAST!

Ghost Track Update: Raleigh Speedway

General

Thanks Jim, nothing like hearing from one who's 'been there and done that'! The 1/4 mile track held weekly events? I was told a judge, or some legal entrepenuer, was involved the speedway, maybe it was James Chestnut, the lawyer.

Ghost Track Update: Raleigh Speedway

General

NASCAR's 2nd superspeedway, the one mile paved "Raleigh (NC)Speedway" was the subject of a recent "Ghost Track" segment on RacersReunion Radio. At that time, it was my understanding (never having visited the site) that absolutely nothing remained of the old speedway. To my pleasant surprise, several listeners have recently informed me that approximately 1/4 mile of the former backstretch and 3rd turn STILL exist. Buried under pine-straw, but there nonetheless! That sure makes thisghost-track-tracker, wanna hit I-40 for a road trip........now that's a happy ending!

Billy and Barbara Scott.

General

What an exciting pleasure to meet and greet the incredible team of Billy and Barabara Scott on the Racers Reunion Radio show. With a carreer spanning flatheadFords to Winston Cup, Billy has been there and done that! And all withhissupreme combination of class and humility.I first came to know Billy in 1969....what an unbelievable series of events that wouldwould ultimately culminate with me, interviewing Billy, on a race-based radio show! Many thanks to all that made this dream come true, and especially to Billy and Barbara. Thank You.

Are things turning around??? SoBo had full stands.

Local and Regional Short Track Racing

Dublin (NC) Speedway's 2010 opening event was Saturday April 3rd. To everyone's surprise, over 80 race cars were in the pits......the super-street division had in excess of 30 entries and the field had to be limited to 24 cars!! The fan-count was impressive too. Hopefully, Saturday night racing is making a come-back!

The Bud Shootout or Should I say the Chase for the Cup, Rookie of the Year, Daytona winners, and Cup Champions Shootout??

Current NASCAR

Speaking of the Rookie of the Year..............is there a candidate for 2010? If not, it'll be the first no-show in NASCAR history.
