How would you fix NASCAR?

AIR-LIFT logo..........I agree, MUST BE ON PIT BOARD!! Robbie Solesbee said:
With radios go with Raceiever. It gives one way communication to driver on cautions, positions on restarts, and when the restart is coming up. Only track officials have access to this. World of Oulwas uses this for their sprint car series and if those guys can race without spotters.......well you get the picuture. But one rule should be that the airlift logo be the only one allowed on pit boards.

I think that they should drop the top 35
Get rid of the chase
Get rid of DW and Digger
Go back to STOCK cars
One warning
Chalk Board Pit Info
Lower the ticket prices - over $100 to sit in the hot sun for 3-4 hours is outragous
Make it a family sport again
Bring more short tracks
Lower the field size
Get rid of two-way radios

Just a few.

Robbbie, good job, you hit a lot of nails squarely on the head. Numbers 6 and 7......the demise of NASCAR-support of the local Saturday night tracks has much greater potential for long-term damage, in fact, we're seeing the 'fruit' of that policy now. The sport was always built from the ground-up, a necessity that was lost when the tree huggers and the politically-correct-police ran off RJR. The scheduling of Cup events on Saturday nights is another nail in this same coffin, and (like most N-CAR policies) is a short-sighted philosopy that is totally greed motivated.

Twin Lakes Speedway

Thanks Brandon for the update. The site that I was looking at, upon zooming down to "street-level" the view was that of a long driveway leading up to a house in the background..........this was not really evident from the aerial. We may be focusing on the same area. Be fun to know more about the story.

Twin Lakes Speedway

Tony, According to racing-reference.info...........Twin Lakes Raceway did not host a NASCAR Grand National race. I was also able to determine that T-L was a 1/4 track that was in operation from 1957 -1960. I did find a possible site off of GA Hwy. 72 about 10 miles east of Elberton, near Calhoun Falls. Check out these Google aerial and see what you think.

NASCAR'S NEW "HAVE AT IT" PHILOSOPHY

General

Janet Gutherie (in her recent Racers Reunion radio interview) made a chilling observation: (and I'm paraphrasing) ............."If a race car goes into the stands, it could be the end of ALL of it............" Anybody wanna bet against that bit of wisdom in this spill-a-cup-of-coffee-win-a-million-dollars, no-fault, tree-hugging culture?

NASCAR'S NEW "HAVE AT IT" PHILOSOPHY

General

IMO, NASCAR marketing, in an effort to boost interest for the 2010 season, launched the "have at it" philosopy. Like most of its leaders and all of its marketers nobody runnin' NASCAR seems to have NO clue. They've promptly put themselves squarely into a corner.......... a no-win-situation just 4 races into the season. Another great job guys! They simply can't have a "have at it" mentality......EVEN if it increases awareness. Too dangerous. Edwards has a point, Keselowski has a point, and NASCAR is somewhat to blame too. NASCAR will be reluctant to ban any driver, due to sponsors; and fan sentiment seems to be against Edwards..... they are between a rock and a hard place.

"I'm a POT-HOLE"

Current NASCAR

Remember ISC/NASCAR's great investment-update-project a few years back involving Daytona's Lake Lloyd? An up-scale boating/dockside/Caribbean theamed experience right there at the Speedway! But they didn't stop with that......nope, the fan-pit-interaction-experience where eager fans could view the teams working on the cars via a window in the garage area! Guess the updating committee forgot the on-track-pavement dated to 1978.
