Stock Car Racing History
Yes, once again the anniversary of the King's win in the SCHAEFER 300 made another lap yesterday on July 12th. Or as I like to visually remember it: 7-12

As a reminder to our rookies and our ambassador members, I have administrative privileges to add tags to photos. While the administrators will do our best to add or edit tags where necessary, we'd prefer members add the appropriate information on the front-end. This will help other members more easily find and view relevant photos.
In other words Dave, where is that long-suppressed photo of Patty!!! INSTANT VINTAGE GALLERY PLACEMENT.
With today being July 11 or 7-Eleven, I thought it made sense to tip a cap to Dave Fulton for his tenure with Southland Corporation as its 7-Eleven brand joined NASCAR as a Winston Cup sponsor - first for Kyle Petty at Petty Enterprises and then later as he moved to the Wood Brothers. Oh... and he tells some pretty good racey ... err, umm, RACING stories.

The King wins again as part of our NASCAR's Northern Tour - this time at Fonda Speedway in New York. For those unfamiliar with the location of Fonda, its just south of Gloversville NY and east of Canojaharie NY.

Also, Junior Johnson won at Fonda in his one and only race there as a driver in 1955. From what I can tell, he never fielded a car there as a car owner. So I guess you could could say ... (sorry 'bout this)... the man from Ronda was kinda fond of Fonda.
