2013: Danica, Dale Jr. and Daytona ... oh my!
Current NASCAR
Did someone say Jeff got looked over??? See what that causes, every time ---a loss in concentration

It seems as though the media and reporters are grasping for something here. Now they put two items together with a third ,was that the intent?? Or was it a pitch to draw more drooling eyes to their pages. I know this is known as the silly time of the year, kinda like going to the store hunting a new cap to wear, look at all the choices, going from blue and white, red and black and green and black. Which do you choose? With a number,a color scheme or a special name.
they use Daytona's name and true many are waiting patiently for the green flag and many many follow Jr because, well because he is Jr. B U T Danica ? I dont think she will do a photo shoot on the beach because thats not Nascar, OR WILL SHE
Time will only tell ,,,,,or will you???
PKL, You heard what Cotton owens wife said about Jeff Gordon when they called and said they wanted a freebee for him at Cottons School
Found some pretty interesting quotes or ramblings from some of our great drivers about Women RACE-CAR Drivers. It starts out with ;
"Women should leave race driving to men"
Bobby Unser said "the good Lord built men and women differently. (Ill agree to that one )
If I could talk to the women who are trying to be race drivers I'd tell them they are shoveling sand against the tide. A.J.Foyt and Cale Yarborough agreed --with appropriate words to spice their opinions.
"They are just not physically strong enough"was the gist of Foyt's reply to an informal poll.
Unser the 1974 United States Auto Club big car driving champion won the first IROC race run in Sept at MIR.
The question about female race drivers was brought on by the excellent showing of Lella Lombardi,a small 31 year Italian woman in a Formula 5000 race in Southern California last month.
Now all this transpired during the IROC practice at Riverside California in 1974.
Wonder what the boys would say to the remarks of yesteryear, or would they have more choice words to display their discomfort for the strength of the lesser or maybe a new grip on the handle of the shovel they are using. This could be interesting ---------!
This years induction to the Hall of Fame had a different flair to it. Now this is my opinion but Leonard Woods speech was from the heart. He talked not of what all they accomplished in racing but who and what allowed them to accomplish what they did. I know that the Woods Brothers feel like they are on top of the world now
Cotton Owens was recognized in proper status and I sure wish he had lived to see this induction
Herb Thomas was a real pioneer coming from the beginnings of the beach course and on to stardom. His family done him proud .
Buck Baker was privileged to have Buddy and Bucks lovely wife there for his acceptance into the Hall of Fame. It was especially interesting when the story of Jeff Gordon coming to his school was portrayed by Buck and about his cars at the school.
And Rusty Wallace, I saw another side of Rusty up there on the stage, the one of a Humble drive accepting his honors.
And I may have missed it but as many times as Mike Heltons name came up I did not hear Brian France name mentioned one time. Again I really enjoyed this years induction..
This photo I think tells the tale in true fashion OLD SCHOOL STYLE
One more just to get you up to speed with a 6 or 8 --your choice
Or a little bit of southern Mopar to go along with the Smokey Special. Both these cars are long winded for the big track--listen
How about a little noise for the sole Southern Style
AINT IT FUN ??? dirt track racing tells a story every turn
Here is a heat race that shows how the long way around is the fastest---but they wont use this setup in the feature--to harsh on tires
