NASCAR

Current NASCAR

Great article Tim.I know the feeling that you described so well.I sat in that seat one day in 1956 and experienced the same feeling. It was a NASCAR race also.I love NASCAR racing. I was brought up in NASCAR. True. I don't like or agree with some of the things that they do now but I still feel that it is the greatest organization in racing.Good for you for writing the story and telling it like it is and was.Tommie Clinard

Will Bristol be called the TEMPER 500 ???

Current NASCAR

They should have parked Busch last night for what he did to Kesloski. A deliberate spin after Brad touched Busch's bumper. Just a little tap and Busch retaliates and wrecks Brad.Brad is on probation and could not retaliate.NASCAR should have stepped up and said, "enough is enough." "You have wrecked enough people." " Sit the rest of this one out."Brad is running for a championship. Busch is running to see how many he can wreck out of his way.Way to go official's.If Brad were not on probation----then it would probably get wild tonight.Maybe Brad has some friends that could--------------... I hope so.

Jr SUCKS!

General

If not for that last cautin flag last night Jr. just may have won that race. He can drive a race car. He came on strong after a bad start put him a lap down. He has the desire. Something is just not clicking with the Cup team. Wish I knew what. I could make some BIG $$$$$$$$'s if I did.It took a few laps for his car to come in and there were just not enough laps left to contend for the win. He did good though.

Lethal Weapon

Vintage Oval and Road Course Racing

It ran off the car and starting bouncing into the air. Cleared the fence and came down on her hitting her in the chest and face as she sat in her lawn chair right beside her husband. She never knew what hit her. They were probably 15-20 feet back from the fence.

Lethal Weapon

Vintage Oval and Road Course Racing

Had one happen like that in Cochran Georgia either last year or the year before. Axle broke and wheel axle and all flew out of the track and hit a woman sitting with her family between the 1st and 2nd turns. Killed her instantly. The class that they were running allowed only stock rear end and wheels. All classes at every race track should have a rule that all cars should have safety hubs no matter what class.

I guess size doesnt mean much to Joey when he gets out of the car after a race

Current NASCAR

Joey made the statement, "I don't know why he alway's races me so hard."Has Joey forgotten that it is a race? He is another one of those wonder boy's that should not even be in Cup yet. He hasn't paid his dues. Too much of buying a way into racing now.

Could the torch be Passing to another in Sprint Cup?

Current NASCAR

I'll bet money that Big Bill France has worn out the bottom of his casket with as many roll overs as he has done because of the way that NASCAR is being handled today.I reaf in today's paper that Joey Logano made the statement about Ryan Newman and the race yesterday and said, "I don't know why he alway's races me hard." That's the name of the game Joey. He's not by himself in likewise statements. Even Jimmy Johnson has complained about other driver's racing his so hard and not giving him room.Oh excuse me Sir. I forgot that you have the right of way. They should have been around in the '50's and '60's. If you won a race then it wasn't because of your crew chief. You earned it and fought hard for it just as the other driver's did. You RACED against each other and the better man that day won the race. That was in NASCAR too. I was raised in NASCAR. But it was a lot different and a lot better back then.Been there---done that. Know what I mean?

General

If you went to a fight and a race broke out-----you might be at a Goat Rodeo. If you go to a race that Kyle Busch didn't win and he does a TV interview---you might be at a Goat Rodeo.

Petition for Raymond Parks

Stock Car Racing History

I was at Raymond Parks Birthday Party Sunday also. I hope that I look that good at 96.I whole heartily authorize my name to be used to induct Raymond Parks into the NASCAR Hall of FAME. Where would NASCAR be if not for Mr. Parks financial backing in the beginning? Who better deserves it??????

Raymond Parks 96th Birthday

General

I echo all of the above. Too bad I didn't get to meet some of you but I didn't strole around because ofmy condition. I was sitting at the table with Rex White. Mr. Parks did look great and I had my picture made with him. That, I will always cherish. J B and Willavene are always awesome hosts. I have known them for several years and they are at the top of my list of "Good Folks."
