Thank you, Devin. A shot for posterity (not posterior)!
Long Haired Legend wearing Petty attire grins after confronting Jaws!
If DW was driving it, I guess you were going incognito to protect your reputation!
You are most welcome, Tim. I have one small request. Some day, let our extremely talented"Dangerous" Devin see a couple of the frames you mention above. I suspect with her amazing abilities, the members of RR would soon be able to see a shot of the Legend with shoulder length hair!!!
Man, The Cotton Picker was one ugly looking ride!
Unfortunately for stock car racing fans, the Wilson County Speedway half-mile sat on the Wilson County Fairgrounds on U.S. 301 - all owned by Robert B. Anderson Post 13 of the American Legion . When the Legion decided it no longer wanted to deal with stock car races interfering with its Saturday night dances, the track was leveled to be used as fair parking.

That was the last of 17 major NASCAR races staged at the Wilson, NC venue beginning in 1951- 12 Grand National and 5 Convertible. Weatherly was also the former Wilson promoter with his partner, Paul Sawyer. Weatherly turned the promotion over to Sawyer when he got his Ford factory ride.
Dennis, that's a really good story. With Junior being a chicken farmer sponsored by a chicken processing company, maybe your cousin should have had him autograph a chicken instead of a pig!
Remember Junior's famous quote about chickens, pigs and breakfast?
"Its kind of like having ham and eggs for breakfast. The chicken is involved, but that pig, hes committed.
Of course, you probably remember, too, some drivers calling Junior "Ole Hog Jowls!"
