HEW SERIES TO TEST AT DARLINGTON

I received an invitation to come and run August 8th-11th at "Race The Rock" which is I guess a vintage event. My invite came from/thru Vintage Oval Magazine. The way it looks is there will be a Vintage event and we would get to take the track on Sat. and Sunday twice a day for a specific amount of time. The way I read it, I guess the cars will be grouped by speed capability. There is some info found at www.svra.com . the number listed on my info was 805-329-7485..I don't know about the Kimmel event but as Bobby said it will be for His HEW street stocks prob.

fantastic evening of great racing. I really enjoyed all the positive energy that was floating around. Also liked several tidbits of terminology they were bantering about such as the "track is locked down." All the teams were searching for the advantage where ever they could find it. I think I heard someone say they brought their Daytona car because it gave them an extra 1/2 inch of ground clearance. As JM and I have said, and Norm Benning proved, old guys rule.....

Bobby, what a fantastic link you have provided. I expect to spend countless hours looking at all these pictures and guide info on this link. In 1966 I moved from Colorado Springs to Fairborn Ohio and brought my black 57 chevy sedan. I had to sell it to pay for the move and the person from Beaver creek, Ohio who bought ittotaled it in the second race they ran. Maybe your link will get me going on building another...Thanks again....

I believe the lead car on this video is Emory Mahan from Pa. but ran a lot all over New York in the early 50's and 60's. He was primarily in current model cars starting about 1956 so this video is prob. from early 50's. jmo.

This is only a wild guess.....and only a guess. Me thinks that Mr. Gilder would never buy a team HE himself wasn't going to drive and Mr Mallonee has the same problem I personally have been having, finding a window opening he can fit thru......lol

If I have to guess I say its Harry Scott and the driver will be Justin Allgieur.....
