Billy, We got to run at the Tampa track a few weeks ago and its now called Showtime Speedway. Doing real good too and having great crowd's. I remember how it was back in the day while in the Air Force and being transferred every 2 years and having to sell all my race stuff and start over. Maybe you need to come back down for a week end and I'll hook you up with a car to run at New Smyrna Speedway .

Dave, This doesn't surprise me at all. New Smyrna Speedway is a first class operation and the Governor's Cup is THE race of the year around here. I wouldnt miss it for anything, even free tickets to the parade final's this week end. I have gotten to run this track quite a few times over the past few year's and its my favorite. The fan base here is very loyal and its a friendly crew at the track.

What a beautiful, heartfelt gesture on the foundation's part. This is something to be very proud of and was a first class move by the Foundation. My wife was a Girl Scout until she was 15 years old and received the Curved Bar Award. I showed her the column as soon as Dave posted it and she read it with a tear in her eye. A wonderful feel good story and I thank you Dave......

Bumpertag, Maybe you are just snake bit with the Blue Oval. I have always been a Ford guy because it was so much more expensive and tougher to make them run like a Chevy. I believed anyone could make a Chevy run just by putting gas in it. lol...I bought a new F-150 pick up a few years ago and it just turned over 340,000 miles with no major problems. A fuel pump and The A/C clutch. I have a Chevy Conversion Van I pull my vintage race car and trailer with and it has 155,000 miles and Pkl says it rides like a new one. I find myself pulling for different drivers because they jump teams and brand names so why shouldnt we. Jmho....

I ran a race last year at Citrus County Speedway here in Florida and there was a School Bus figure eight race on the program. It was the first one I had ever seen and it was so exciting and the stands were overflowing. The track flag man was the winner and had nerves of steel. I really enjoyed it.

There is nothing sweeter than a highly modified 6 cylinder in line Chevrolet product turning over 6,000 RPM with a short stack split manifold. A couple years ago A man came up to me in the pits at Putnam County Dirt track and asked why I didn't run it deeper into the corners. I told him I did it so I could hear my engine and listen to it longer... We had a good laugh about that and he said he really enjoyed that sound of the ole 292 GMC truck motor......
