As we move through this exciting Historic/Vintage season kicked off by the event at Columbia Speedway we here at AIRPS would request that everyone remember our project here in Augusta for the young folks. And, we want you to attend our event on September 12th to enjoy a day of activities and have a chance to see the largest public motorsports memorial project in the country. This developing outdoor learning area has a centerpiece! That centerpiece is a 10 foot tall by 18 foot wide granite memorial weighing in at over 40,000 pounds and it contains the names of over 200 drivers from NASCAR and the United States Road Racing Championship (USRRC) that competed here in Augusta. The idea behind this project is to develop an outdoor learning area devoted to teaching underprivilaged children about our sport and other topics and also give them a chance to learn obout nature in an open environment. Several benches are in place and we will be placing more as time moves forward. AIRPS wants the kids to ask............................."Who was Frog Fagan?" and where was North Wilkesboro and why did these men do what they did? By doing so they will learn about the sport we love so much. Our 6th Annual Augusta Vintage Nationals is shaping up to be very special. Not sure we will be able to top the Columbia event or the event in Hillsboro but our heart is in the right place. Please take a moment to visit: www.5Wkids.com . And, please plan to attend our public no charge event and help us develop this important area for the children located at the former Augusta International Raceway. The "5W" is very simple: Who, What, When, Where, Why

I've enjoyed all the years I have been involved with AIRPS. They are doing a great job for the kids as well as remembering all the drivers. I look forward to the montly meetings and the annual event in September.
