Believe everyone is getting up to speed on the exciting things happening at the former Augusta International Speedway. The Raceway (3 mile road circuit) portion of the former facility is being developed into Diamond Lakes Regional Park with 10 state of the art ballfields in place as well as walking tracks, picnic areas and of course the brand new 60,000 square foot Community Center/Libray Complex plus Motorsports Memorial Plaza.Well, more good news received just this AM!The brand new Diamond Lakes Tennis Center, which sits across the former front straight from the Community Center/Library Complex will be dedicated on September 19th, the weekend after our annual event on the 12th. This 12 court tennis complex has a brand new "clubhouse" that will double for the upcoming golf course. At some point in the future during our annual event we will hold golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and running events.Come and visit this fantastic old track. As Tim says, life is great!

Tim, I see not reason why in a few years we will not be having a "Charity" golf tourney at the former track during the event weekend.I believe the golf course is next up for development and it will also sit across from the Community Center and next to the Tennis Center and just across the track is Dave MacDonald Drive and Frank Warren Drive with Glenn Roberts Drive and Weldom Adams Drive just a few feet more away. When the on site campground is completed we will have nighttime track walks. Nothing better than walking an old track at night or early in the morning when no other living thing is around. Our "Vintage/Historic" racing life is going to get much better.Be kinda cool to have Richard, Cale, Ned and the other boys hits a few golf balls around the old track.Henry
