2001 IROC practice on the front straight as
#96 sits waiting for its turn at practice. Andy Houston driver of
#96 Cal Wells McDonalds Ford. Houston qualified 9th for the Feb 18, 2001 Daytona 500. A accident involving
#33 Joe Nemechek on lap 158 took him out of the race and he finished 38th. Houston was a competitor on the NGDS for many years and everyone in the “Dash” family wished him well in his first full year as a cup driver. This would be Houston’s only year in the cup series to date. He is a great competitor and an all around nice guy,
does anyone know what he’s doing now? Thanks, James Trout.
