Hi everyone,
I have been on a long search to see if I can locate pictures of my father, Denis Redhage, racing at I-55 in Pevely and I-57 in Benton.
My father raced at both locations from about 1975 to 1982. Pevely was the track that he raced at the most frequently. He raced three super duty Pontiacs for a gentlemen by the name of Selden Ruwwe. Selden owned two lightweight Catalinas, one hardtop ("Tin Indian II") and one sedan ("Tin Indian".) He also owned a lightweight A/FX 1963 Tempest ("Pontiac Strikes Again".) All three cars were equipped with ultra-rare aluminum frontends.
The Tempest became the car of choice and my father raced it longest. My father set up the Tempest with a 1958 370 cubic inch engine, Liberty 4-speed and Dana 60 rearend with 5.38 gears. The combination ran consistent 6.50's at over 105m.p.h. very strong performance for its time.
If anyone can help me in the search, I would greatly appreciate it. Some one had given me the name Bob Fink. I was told he worked at I-55 and might have pictures from this era.
Thank you,
Jeff Redhage
