Jim, you remember Bert Friday's other famous saying, don't ya, " Turn Left, Boy, Turn Left ! ". Now you would think that would be a givin', but you had to be there. Not always. Just ask some of NASCAR's best who made that right hand turn and ended up in the chinaberry trees.Lawrence

Today was a great new begining for the old cayce speedway? Is it really?, or are we going to get our hope built up just to be crushed again? In the columbia area how well has a professional sport been supported? We really missed out by letting OUR SPEEDWAY GO !! and have no one to blame but ourselves. The cayce speedway would have been a mainstay in the columbia area where other major sports have failed!! Hey the gamecocks aint got no racetrack! If you would listen to the guys who used to race there you would feel the connection, they poured their hearts and souls into this sport and put their life on the line to entertain us.Almost everyone of us have a story about racing at cayce speedway.Dont let it end ,dont let it become another housing development, dont let it become another strip mall,or a ,bicycle park? Dont let this be taken away from OUR community!! Be there show your support dont let the memories die!! Pass the word SAVE OUR TRACK SAVE OUR HISTORY!!! Show up cayce show your Pride!!!!!! Let the world know what were made of!!!!! GO BEARCATS!!!

Remember...while it's in Cayce, the name of the facility was and is Columibia Speedway. One of the best ways to preserve the track for this and other events is for more help fom the business community through sponsosrhips. To anyone who has a solid contact with who you think might join us as sponsors, have them contact me We'll follow through. And, this has to be done auickly because we want this Festival to be really big for Cayce and all fans who remember the original Columbia Speedway.
