........... who would you want to drive for?Well, for me it would be the following...........Superspeedways it could only be the Wood Brothers!
Short tracks would have to be Junior Johnson.
But the best of all at anywhere you went would have to be ol' Poppa Ralph in one of his Competition Proven Fords. If there ever was a sharper chassis man than Ralph Moody I've never heard of him and he was a wonderful man and true friend of anyone fortunate to be in his circle.
And the guy who I would not have wanted to drive for is probably gonna be a surprise since I considered Smokey a friend and he really liked my cars, But..........back in the days before those multi million dollar appearance contracts, if you didn't finish well you didn't eat well. While getting to hang out at the secret race shop at the "Best Damn Garage in Town" would have been priceless, they still wanted cash at the local grill and grocery store. LOL
Another classic, Jerry!
Thanks Jeff.
If i had the chance to go back in time, it would be either when the Hudson Hornet's were around, the glory years of Petty Enterprises, The glory years of Junior Johnson Motorsports, and if i could choose a team today, it would be none other, then the glorious, RICHARD PETTY MOTORSPORTS. Specifically the #44 Valvoline Dodge
