Have an old dirt track vintage stock car? Do you want to have some fun with it? Read on....
Hello. This is more of a survey, I would like to know if you own a pre-1970 stock car if you would like to participate in an exhibition race at a 1/4 mile dirt track in Red Springs, NC near Lumberton off I-95. A few guys and myself have formed a small group of 1930's model modified stock cars and have been running exhibition races once a month during the tracks regular scheduled race. We don't race for points or a trophy, it is purely a "show" for the crowd and a lot of fun for us. Since there is NO money on the line we are having TWICE the fun. It's purely entertainment, no pressure, plenty of room to race and we have established some ground rules to reduce the chances of two cars getting together. The track is perfect for vintage exhibitions since it is small, the speeds are kept reasonably safe. The clay is excellent to run on and we are normally the 2nd class of the night to race so there's not a lot of waiting around. There is a $12 driver entry fee for the track use and insurance.I invite you to bring your car out to run some laps with us. Please, nothing later than 1970 at this time, we may consider running some vintage late models, just email me you questions.Email me if your interested. We are running exhibition races once a month but am considering having an all day Saturday exhibition races and hotrod car show in October at Hammerdown Speedway, Red Springs, NC.See www.hammerdownspeedway.com
What? Not a single taker? You mean to tell me I'm on the hottest website going in the area of vintage stock car racing and not one single owner of an old dirt track car want's to take it out for a spin? Are you kidding me!!!???
