i'm happy that this movie is being made, but disappointed in the lack of attention to detail. in looking at the photo from the article , it's evident that the scott double is a 1964 chevy ( scott drove a 1962 model to his win and never drove a 1964 model). also, the other "relica" cars look to be 1950's vintage which were too old to compete in the actual race that scott won. it might be splitting hairs to some, but i think wendell deserves better than this.

I just hope they do Wendell justice and not over glamorize it or falsify his story with some insert of their own. In any case, it will give us all something to look forward too in the dead of winter.

Let us not forget that Wendell is enshrined in the Racers Reunion Memory Lane Hall of Fame with all the respect and honor due to such an important part of stock car racing history. His widow Mary and daughter Sybil have been most gracious to our organization for a long time and while ESPN may not be able to properly document this contributions of this hero to stock car racing, Racers Reunion and Memory Lane Musuem have done so. When the glitz of Hollywood ESPN production is said and done, we will still have Wendell properly remembered and honored. I am pleased that ESPN has decided to present the story to the sporting world, but, as already stated by others here, I hope it is with the respect and honor due.Tim

My insider tells me is it's a low budget film and they made due the best they could with the local vintage cars available however the story is more about Wendell than attention to detail or whether they replaced the original `62 Impala with a `64. I suppose we should wait until the documentary airs before we get too critical....myself included.

I'm glad that anything is done and while nothing in my mind will ever beat RacersReunion, its great to see the mainstream stations keeping the awesome memories alive

it couldn't be any worse than "greased lightning" made to depict scott's life in the 1970's. i have the utmost respect and admiration for scott and just want to see the best product possible to honor his memory.
