This is Bob Moore's 57 Plymouth that he recreated He raced the car all over the south east in the 60s but after Bobs passing the Plymouth took a life of its own at MGR. This is the last year it will probably be shown as Bobs car and the car would not start for its final lap around Middle Ga Speedway. The car was showing its passion to Bob Moore and its fans one last time.. Johnny: Great pic of the Plymouth. Similar to the ole silver #7 that Bob Burcham drove and was so successful at Middle Ga. Raceway in the 60's. Bo Fulford Chevelle #68

Hey Bo -- Here is the car you mentioned ,and yes there was a lot of similarity's in the two. I hadnt thought of that. Bob is no longer here so we have to rely on what we remember of the past http://images52.fotki.com/v737/photos/8/810463/3213110/1964latemodifieds013-vi.jpg

Bob Burcham at Middle Georgia Raceway, the track he dominated during the sixties. Here he receives the championship trophies for the race, the Morelock 200, and the season of 1968. GARHOFA's Jimmy Mosteller is the PA announcer and is handing out the trophies. To the right is Bob's right arm mechanic Hoss Jackson. Bob's wife Jean is holding one of the trophies for that day's race. She was a big fan of Bob's racing, and always was his scorekeeper at the longer races. Burcham was the winningest driver in the history of Middle Georgia Raceway. He became an early legend at the 1/2 mile banked oval when it first opened in 1965. At the time he was chauffeuring his 1958 Plymouth to numerous wins. On this day, Burcham was driving his silver Chevelle and had scored two wins for taking both 100 lappers. The first one he started on the outside pole, took the lead coming out of turn one and was able to hold off Charlie Padgett, Charlie Mincey and Don Tomberlin. The second event the field was inverted and he had to battle his way to the front, edging out Mincey, LeeRoy Yarbrough and Padgett. The quiet Burcham noted, "The car and I were able to establish a good rapport today." Indeed they had. Here is a photo of the good ole days at Middle Ga Raceway -- a lot of people in the photo but the real ones was Jimmy Mosteller(think I spelled it right)and Bob Burcham . Look at the old score board and the stands on the back stretch and the double duty ambulance in the infield. You cant miss those pants the young lady was sporting. The trophy on left is being held by Bobs Lovely wife. ----------------------------------------- memories

Johnny. I may be wrong but I think that the Plymouth Bob Burcham ran was a 59. No biggie. I just remember that it had a strange sounding thump and cornered like it was on rails. Blew me away more than once. His mechanic, Hoss, let me know that the torsion bars on the front were from a 2 ton Chevy truck. They had the hexagons machined down so as to fit the A frames and anchors on the Plymouth. After I had to go to work for my uncle (Sam) in 1971, apparently Bob and his guys built the # 7 Chevell.Bo
