Fans of drag racing recently had something to cheer about, and I'm curious to know how many noticed.
Beginning with the U.S. Nationals, NHRA began a feature called NHRA Inter@ctive. The editors of National Dragster magazine took to their computers, and provided live commentary from the races. If you didn't participate, you don't know how much information and fun you missed. If you did participate, did you take a few minutes to let NHRA know how you felt about it? Comments, criticisms, suggestions? How often have you complained about something regarding drag racing, but not taken the time to let someone know just how well they're doing? Considering that we place so much stock in "reaction times", why do ours stink when it comes to praising something that benefits us?
You can bet that NHRA is in the process of evaluating the results of their experiment, and unless they get feedback, it'll be lost. And if it goes away, we, the fans of drag racing, lose. Take a few minutes, and send your comments to nhra@nhra.com and let them know how you liked it. If you didn't take part, join in for the live coverage. Remember, if you don't let them know, we may lose this feature, and that will REALLY suck. And when you see Phil Burgess or any of the staff from National Dragster on here, take a minute to thank them too, because they're workin' their butts off to keep this thing going for us.
Thanks Paul..I totally agree.
Thanks for the support, Wally, and thanks for your show. I fear that we're at a turning point in our sport. We're on the verge of losing our racing history, and we need to preserve it for the future racers and fans. Thanks for all you do,.
Good post Paul and a great idea to contact NHRA. I too listened to Inter@ctive and enjoyed it very much. I never seem to get too much information and this is a welcome resource.
