Bud is driving for famed car builder, Marion Cox. The team ran Columbia on Thursday, Starlite Speedway near Monroe, N. C. on Friday and either Greenville-Pickens or Myrtle Beach on Saturday. But, on Sunday, it was church time!

Mr. Marion, didn't really care for Saturday night races extending past mid-night, as that placed his team racing on Sunday. Mr. Marion also quietly declined a Ford factory 'deal' because most the GN races were on Sunday.
