This is a new book by NASCAR writer Andrew Giangola. He has compiled the wonderful stories of NASCAR's remarkable fans from Wessa Miller, the Dale Earnhardt penny girl, to a NASA astronaut who asked the outcome of a race from the space shuttle. There are famous fan characters known at different raceways such as Tire man and Bob's psychedelic party bus. It also includes the stories of man who placed a NASCAR flag at the summit of Mt. Everest and a man who gave up a career to defend our country. After being severely wounded, he has recovered with a desire to be a motivational speaker and may soon have a chance to sing our national anthem at a NASCAR race. This book is over 300 well written pages of stories that will make you laugh, make you wonder and touch your heart. It is a great read with lots of quality pictures and many more stories about people like us that just LOVE!!!! our sport of auto racing. I would love to hear your comments on it, I would love to hear comments or answer further questions.

I heard an interview with him on Sirius radio the other day...sounds like a cool book that will give folks a closer look at that part of the sport.

Yes, I heard the interview as well on Sirius. My wife and I were honored to be one of the stories in the book called Ryans Hope. Many of the people in the book have started corresponding. The group is so diverse that it is interesting as you get to know each other yet we have the love of auto racing to bond us. Just as this site does. I guess when we get a group together like Racers Reunion it is a pretty accurate representation of the NASCAR audience. We come from everywhere for all different reasons.
