I had this picture posted to reiterate what an impact racing had on my youth. We had a whole gang of guys who raced bikes on several tracks that we had build around the neighborhood. We raced those bikes EVERY day it didn't rain. We were physcially awesome. Also, another reason I had it posted was to show how what Richard Petty did influenced me in almost every way. Note the Petty Blue Boots on the guy on the outside front row lineup. That's me. Richard wore Petty Blue boots when he won the Daytona 500 in February. I asked him where he got them, he told me how to dye my boots with the same dye, so I did and I wore them every race. The guy on the pole here, driving the number 28, was one of my best friends and worked on my crew when I started racing cars in 1969. He's gone now and I miss him every day, but the memories are awesome.
