Born Dec. 9, 1933, in Fort Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Cleneth Brandt LaMaster Sr. and Mabel Irene Tritle LaMaster. He retired as owner of Clem's Satellite. He was a member of Wescott Christian Center of Los Angeles. He was a promoter of Winchester Speedway. He drove super-modified/open-wheel race cars and was inducted into ARCH Racing Hall of Fame in Hagerstown in 1980. He was a member and former chief of North Mountain Volunteer Fire Co. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Loretta "Doll" Higgins LaMaster, whom he married Aug. 22, 1952; one daughter, Jan Couperthwaite of Winchester; four sons, David LaMaster and Charles LaMaster, both of Winchester, and Alan LaMaster and Brian LaMaster, both of High View, W.Va.; one sister, Vicki Rife of Mercersburg, Pa.; one brother, Bud LaMaster of Mercersburg; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Metcalf; and three brothers, Vaughn LaMaster, Rodney LaMaster and Wayne LaMaster. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home Amherst Chapel in Winchester. David A. Owings will officiate. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to North Mountain Fire and Rescue, 186 Rosenberger Lane, Winchester, VA 22602; or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., No. 405, Winchester, VA 22601."
Clem Lemaster would go on for many years to promote the Winchester Virginia Speedway.
