I just couldn't come up with the right scale water pipe for the roll bar. I write it off to modeling license..

I wouldn't change anything on this build, Tom. If a roll bar has water pipe and elbows you know it would collapse in a heart beat. Besides, Jack's head was way over the bar. Has Al seen this build? I think he'd get a big kick out of it! I did put a link to Al Blixt's website on the Goodwin fan page on RR per his request. He has so much knowledge of racing from waayyy back in the day. How long did it take to gather the facts and do the build?Pete

Thanks for the comments. Yes Al's seen it. I sent him a file when I finished it. Ed & Jack were also sent hard copy files (they're not big computer fans). When I told Jack about this sight this morning he had his wife (Eunice) take down the info so she could look it up for him. He was awed that he has a fan club and is remembered ! He said to let everyone know a BIG THANK YOU !As far as the build goes, I try not to keep track of those things. It takes the fun out of it. I just get the satisfaction of gettin' one done. Sometimes, with my old paws, I get to build and rebuild parts untill I think it meets my criteria and is acceptable for showing others. LOL

Tom, glad you got to talk to Jack. He has lots of fans as I'm sure he knows. If you think of it next time you talk to Jack, ask if he remembers Harry Devor, a racer and member of the "Upsidedown Club" at Motor City Speedway. I ran into Harry and his wife over the summer. His wife said the "girls" would play cards while the guys were racing. Harry was going to look Jack up in Florida when he got back. Harry has stage 4 lung cancer and was having a rough time. Hopefully they were able to meet. I will try and get a hold of Harry's stepdaughter to see how he's doing. He was only given a few months to live in July. Harry also used to build cars and built some cars for Ronnie Duman.
Great detail Tom. WOW!!
