Remember sitting in thatgrandstand in 1966 on my first trip to Darlington and not being able to see anything except the tops of the cars against the wall. After that, always sat in Robert E.Lee's Paddock, Row 17,off old turn 4 until I started working in racing. Either place your ears rang for a week.

Thats funny I took the picture because it was Davy Allison next to his car but the grandstand is the one that every one notices. You never know what you catch in a picture that gets noticed. lol

Right at the top of my head no. I have to look at my mag. but I know you are right it was cooler weather. It was some time during 85-87 about a year or two before he pased. If I find out anymore I will tell you.
