Rockingham Dirt Track

One of the Carolina's most beloved tracks, the old Rockingham Motor Speedway. RMS pre-dates "The Rock" and is only about 5 miles removed from its former NASCAR neighbor. Opening as a dirt track in the 1950's, RMS raced into the early 1970's, and was paved during the twilight of it's life. What's not very well remembered is its exact location. With the help of fellow racingreunion members, Dennis Andrews, and Danny Quick, the location is now accurately established. The main entrance to the old race track was at the modern-day intersectiion of Sedgefield road and US1.
