Hill made the list??? Seriously??? James Dean??? He did not race that much. Common. I would say Steve McQueen should be ranked 2nd. Earnhardt should have been ranked 1. Petty should have been on the list or perhaps Curtis Turner or AJ Foyt. Mario Andretti may be great, but he was not that cool.

Well here is my top 10 list of Coolest drivers. No actors. Just real drivers.

1.)Dale Earnhardt- From dirt tracks, outlaw tracks to the top of the NASCAR world. He started from nothing

2.)Richard Petty-The Cowboy hat, the shades and his career 200 wins. been through much of NASCAR's existence. Been though some of the most vicious wrecks and has survived.

3.)AJ Foyt- One time he won two races in one day. One on pavement and the other on dirt. Could win in anything with 4 wheels. One of the toughest and most hard headed drivers. Survived in a very dangerous era of racing.

4.)Niki Lauda- Is burned alive, given the last rights and awakes from a coma to go back to racing and wins the Championship. Still has the scars from that horrible day. Enough said.

5.)Cale Yarborough- Has some funny daredevil stories. Led every lap at Bristol. Never used a relief driver

6.)Junior Johnson- The bootlegger. Pardoned by Reagan

7.)James Hunt- Indeed he was like a hippie. That free spirit of the 70s

8.)Gilles Villeneuve- Raced hard and on the ragged edge everytime. His ability with a snowmobile translated into some insane and unreal driving moves in F1. If it rained, watch out. He was the fastest in the rain

9.)Tony Stewart- Like Foyt I think he is a hard headed and interesting character in NASCAR. I like how he always wants to race. Does not matter what it is.

10.)Curtis Turner- The stories off the track are amusing.

Only Earnhardt fans think Earnhardt should be the #1 coolest drivers, he could be funny at times but far from Mr. Cool. I don't neither disagree or agree with Rahal's top 10 I just don't think Earnhardt fit the definition of a "Cool dude".

However, it's not fair to have a movie star in the list, so to counter Rahal's movie star line up I'm going to trump his with the coolest of them all....Joe Cool aka Snoop Dog or, Snoopy as his momma called him.

Lists are always subjective depending upon what party, or parties, are making the list. Christopher comes much, much closer to an accurate list. But, when you start talking "cool" drivers, how can you eliminate the dog sled teams that race in that race across the snow in Alaska. I would think that race if FULL of cool drivers, really cool drivers. And, by the way, what and where is "The Drive Channel"?

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
