That is an excellent question and, frankly, it had not occurred to me to ask. I am so accustomed these days to NASCAR taking, taking, taking, and giving back nothing, that I overlooked it completely.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

This is just a guess...but it is probably because they think it might alienate some of their new fans and those they wish to woo who may have different beliefs. You know...it might be they are trying to be "politically" correct. Just a guess...I doubt you could get a "real" answer from anyone who is employed by them.

Ok I sent a message to several people in places and got a reply from one already.

Hey Johnny,

I am familiar with Racer's reunion. Don't you guys have a bigevent in Columbia SC coming up?

NASCAR should wish fans a Merry Christmas. I checked their websiteand there was nothing. I don't know why, but you would probablyneed to ask someone in Daytona.

Sincerely,

I'm with you Jeff. Political correctness, the new order of the day for NASCAR......further distancing themselves from the Christian, middle-class working folks. Those same folks that brought NASCAR from the beach-road course to the Waldorf-Astoria.

Nascar does not runNASCAR.com and has little involvement but a lack of Holiday greetngs is typical of a corporate site. No biggie. Off the holdiay subject, NASCAR.com is one of the most heavily moderated racing forums out there.

I think you are right Bobby. This seems to be standard operating procedure for them these days.

Most corporate sites are not FAN BASED.An example of a corporate based site that did wish their FANS a MERRY CHRISTMAS IS NHRA.

If Turner has any influence with anything connected to NASCAR........we may as will quit having these "what's wrong with NASCAR dicussions" 'cause Mr. Most-Liberal-of-the-Universe, Ted Turner says it all.....it's the answer to every question and every problem. No wonder they don't say "Merry Christmas".

I never realized how fan-based the NHRA was until I saw a commercial for when they came to Atlanta Dragway back in June or so. $25 tickets which includes pit-passes and meet all drivers! With Nascar...$25 will get you a hamburger, fries and drink. Sure tickets usually start at $40, but how good of seats and view are they? Good seats cost you around $100-$150.....but wait, that doesn't include pit passes (I believe around $300) or parking, food, or any souvieneer that you might hanker for.......
