As it stands now to win you have to have a partner who is willing to be second. And if you watched last nites race there were short runs at stacking four or more together to freightrain it away from the pack.

Now this is what the new car has evolved into,a two car breakaway,no one car slingshot of the old,but without help you aint gonna go up front.

The big tracks are one kind of racing--the short tracks are the old stuff I guess.

My opinion only but Sat nites 400 was a boring race, true there was a couple of wild moves but it was two or none to the front. I did enjoy David Winning because he is a true Ga boy but other than that boring. Kyle was at a loss without help, smoke needed pushing, Kevin and his cronies couldnt do it without each other so there it is . I guess its a team effort on and off the track. Oh yeah better bring some butter for your bumper-looks like thats a new requirement. Patty hid the Pam. Or maybe some one has a different view?????

Frankly, as of this writing, I have not determined by feelings for last night's race yet. I did observe a most beautiful Daytona Speedway and a sparkling field of cars. I was sad Trevor got put into the wall so early as I was hoping to see him follow up with this Daytona 500 victory. I watched every single lap of the wide-open coverage and I did enjoy that angle of it. I was happy to have another first time winner this year, even if he does drive for Jack Rousch. The competition was close, as you mentioned, Johnny due to the odd circumstances of the drafting qualities of these carbon copy stamped cars. But, when it was over, there was none of my usual elation I feel after Daytona races, no let down that it was over, nothing to be thought of except for heading to bed. I can truthfully say that I have never felt so ambivilent about any Daytona race. Wonder if I'm just too old now?

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Jr had an interview with Fox Sports after the race and it is on the internet. It has a lot of personal feelings about this new style of racing. You depend on another car to function. In the 400 there was a blue newcomer up in the running and he had NO partner. You could watch him slowly move to the back. He tried to latch on to a group as they went by but that doesnt work.

My opinion only but I think this is another stepping stone to the ruination of Superspeedway racing. Unless someone with guts and knowledge of what Nascar needs grabs the reins racing on big tracks is going to die.

Look what they do with those "wicker" boards at the Rock, The solution is simple. Let them run whatever body they want, whether it be a mustang or a 4 door dodge. You adjust each car individually to perform within the time or speed that is safe fun and enjoyable. It worked there letting a 4 cylinder race rag tag with a V8 and the fans loved it. But what the heck Im only one raindrop in the pond !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a good set of spears about a foot long on each end of the car would make for better racing. Run up to bump someone and a spear goes throught your radiator.

As for bodys, I think they should have to run stock sheet metal, move the piller as needed to open the front window areas as needed and go back to a 4" spoiler on the rear and a similar "dive plane" on the frontlike the seventies and eithties.
