Info wanted on a car called the "BIg Orange"

General

In '64 or so there was a orange '55-56 Plymouth with an altered wheelbase and powered by a then new style 426 Hemi. It was called the "Big Orange" and rans some at the Double H Drag strip in Blue Ridge, GA. I am looking for any information on this car. I only saw it a couple of times. I figure it was from the AL, GA, NC or TN areas.

I kind of lurk over here some but I am going to try to get here more. I spend a lot of time on the Stock Car Racers Reunion site. Back in the days when I started going to the drag races at our little local track called Lloyd's Drag Strip in Blairsville, GA I helped with a "Cheatin' 4-Barrel" '55 Chevy and then a SS/S '62 Ford lightweight called "Bad News" it was the former Phil Bonner, Frank Vego Ford, that he used to match race with. When I was helping it was owned by a fellow named Oscar Parker.

Thanks

Brad K Interview

Stock Car Racing History

This is the most refreshing thing that I have heard out of the NASCAR Nation as some may call it. I am glad someone has the guts to speak up and say the things most of us are thinking. More Power to Brad.

Passing of Joe Carver

Stock Car Racing History

I remember Joe from my days at Georgia International and Prototype Engineering's involvment with DW. I looked in an old business card holder and found Joe's old card, it has the name "Winston Cup Marketing Group, Inc. " on it with that "WC Marketing Group" part marked out and "Celebrity Connection" in it's place in ball point pin ink. Winston or NASCAR must have made him and partner DW quit using the WC part. Joe was a great promoter and PR person and represented the sport well.

RIP, Joe Carver, I'm glad I got to know you.

Located Old Photo- Number 26 ford Coupe-Taylor's Auto Paint and Body Service- Info anyone??

Stock Car Racing History

I recently aquired a scan of an old photo my late father in law had. This was around the Auburndale, FL area and was probably in the early to mid 1950's. The owner and/or driver was previously from PA. Any one have any information on this car or the folks in the photo. Nice to keep the photo alive anyway.

Also, should this be here or in the blog section. If needed it is alright to move it moderators.

Curtis Crawfish Crider

Stock Car Racing History

Sorry to hear we have lost another from the crop of great drivers from the days when drivers were drivers.I believe this is from the 1964Dixie 400 at Atlanta: Don't pay attention to the date (July), back then I had to use up all my film before I could get it developed.
