Mack Sellers World 600 1969

gallery image
Spartanburg, S. C. native Mack Sellers takes his position at the pit wall during the running of the 1969 World 600 at Charlotte. Air Force Sargeant Roy Mayne drove the Sellers Chevrolet in this race, but lost an engine and finished 34th. Sellers fielded Grand National cars for several drivers in the late 60's and early 70's and even got behind the wheel as a driver in three events. Handling the radio is College of Charleston Hall of Fame basketball player Rick Carpenter, who was a member of the Wingate College basketball team at that time.

Is Sellers the man with his leg up on the pit wall, or the man with the radio to his ear? I have never seen a pic of Mack Sellers, so thank you for sharing this!
