Butch Lindley 1975 Last LMS Champ - Columbia
Butch Lindley (R) with trophy after winning one of the last Late Model Sportsman events at Columbia Speedway in 1975. Just a few weeks after this race, Chuck Lattuca (center) closed the track at the beginning of the summer. Lindley was the last LMS points champion. Unfortunately, Lindley died sometime later from injuries he suffered in a wreck at a track in Pensacola, Fla.
