spam messages??

General

In the past week I have 2 gifts no note along with them. The name below the gift is not clickable and when I search for them they can't be found in the group. I am guessing that they are the spammers and the accounts have been closed?

Let it never be forgot....that once there was a spot.....

Stock Car Racing History

AMEN!!! I wish I had a chance to REALLY experience the true roots of the sport. The blood, sweat, and tears the came from the roots of the sport I love were before my time, but I am very thankful I found this amazing group of people. It is through you all here, that I have expanded my love for the roots, and not just the "roots" DW likes to push upon the current NASCAR followers. Thank you!

We're pulling for Larry and Charlie to recover fully. That was a hard hit!! Does anyone know for sure if there were spotters? The TV said there were and another report said there wasn't. Any radios?

Pray for Larry Pearson

I found this article at thatsracin.comNASCAR legend faces surgery after crashPearson suffers multiple fractures; Glotzbach in good condition after wreck at BristolBy Jim Utter - jutter@charlotteobserver.comSaturday, Mar. 20, 2010Rick Wilson beats Phil Parsons to win legends raceBRISTOL, Tenn. Two drivers taking part in an exhibition race among NASCAR legends at Bristol Motor Speedway were injured in a violent wreck and transported to a local hospital Saturday afternoon.Larry Pearson's family confirmed through track officials that the driver had a compound fracture of his left ankle, a fractured pelvis and a fractured right hand. He was to have surgery late Saturday.According to BMS officials, Charlie Glotzbach is listed in good condition. On Lap 30 of the 35-lap event, Pearson spun and hit the outside wall. As his car drifted back down the track, it was T-boned on the driver's side by Glotzbach.Glotzbach was able to get out of his car, which briefly caught fire, and was escorted into ambulance.Safety workers spent several minutes attempting to extricate Pearson, who was knocked unconscious, from his car. Eventually works tore off most of the driver compartment to get to Pearson.According to an ESPN report, Pearson was responsive when loaded on an ambulance. He was taken to a waiting helicopter, where he was airlifted to Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, according to BMS officials.Pearson, 56, is the son of three-time Cup champion David Pearson and twice won the championship of what is now known as the Nationwide Series.Glotzbach, 71, is a former Cup and Automobile Racing Club America series driver. In 1971, Glotzbach won the caution-free Volunteer 500 at Bristol, in a record pace that still stands (averaging 101.074 mph in two hours, 38 minutes). The cars used for legends race at Bristol were from the USAR Pro Cup Series (formerly known as the Hooters Pro Cup). Its our choice to race, said Rick Wilson, the winner of the event. You get older and they say youre reaction time goes down, then you see a 19-year old do something on the track and say, What is he doing?Nobody makes anybody get these race cars. I love it. Its a chance you take.Read more: http://www.thatsracin.com/2010/03/20/30173/two-nascar-legends-injured-in.html#ixzz0im2nB7dy

Incase you missed the Show down at Bristol, Larry Pearson was in a bad wreck with 4 laps to go. Remember to pray for him. If anyone has any updates can you please update me? Thanks!

Edward vs Keselowski

General

I LOVE your way of thinking! Robbie Solesbee said:
Chain of events-
1) Edwards tries to block Keselowski on the lap last of a race at Talledega and takes himself out. Refuses to acknowlege the reality of what happened.
2) Not content to get on with his life Edwards vows revenge.
3)Gets crashed on a bad restart. Like this has never happened to anyone else. Comes back out over 100 laps down to get revenge.
4) Purposely turns the 12 car. You can see Edwards pull a hard right and never get out of the gas.
5)Damage control time after Carl realizes he took this too far.

Now, if I were allowed to dole out punishment:
If I ran NASCAR- lifetime ban. It's one thing to act like a brainless thug. It's another thing when you decide to use an automobile as a weapon with no regard for who may get hurt.

If I where the county Sheriff- One count of assault and battery with intent to kill, and numerous counts of attemping malicious body injury, as this could have got ugly in the stands. A racing incident is one thing. When there are two cars on the track and one chases down the other to hit it.makes this a calculated move on Edwards' part. At this point racing has nothing to do with it.

If I sponsored the #99 team.
1) Terminate sponorship
2)Sue for damage to our corporate image.
3)Hire a professional to make the root cause of the problem "go away".

Or maybe this scenario- NASCAR has been taking advice from VInce McMahon on how to boost ratings. Maybe NASCAR wants to be like WWE-sports entertainmernt with a pre-determined outcome.

Edward vs Keselowski

General

I agree with the wing! I can't wait to see how this thing pans out. Personally I think that Edwards has a bad habit of being overly aggressive, but this time I think he went too far. It is fine to give another driver a "lil love tap", but it is totally different to intentionally wreck another driver at 195 mph ( not to mention that driver being 154 laps down). OK, my tangent is over LOL.

NASCAR'S NEW "HAVE AT IT" PHILOSOPHY

General

I think that Edwards should be suspended, and fined. This new "Have at it" philosophy that NASCAR has adapted is great, I mean heck rubbins racin right?!? BUT, there is a difference between a "Love tap", and an overly aggressive "wack". I also think that common sense should come into play on this, I mean hold off on the retaliation for a slower track!
