AJ Allmendinger to the 22

General

I'd forgotten AJ ran the 2011 season for RPM for free. That really showed true commitment to wanting to stay in the sport so for that, I hope he has a good run in the #22. Also a great break for Todd Gordon who seemed to really know his stuff in the Nationwide #22. Along with Jason Ratcliffe moving to the #20 Cup team, that makes two successful Nationwide crew chiefs getting their breaks in big time Cup racing.

As for Ragan to the #43, surely Jack would want Ragan in the Ford camp rather than the guy that left his organization in 2005 (Kurt) but I'd think it all depends on which driver can attract the better sponsor for RPM at this point given Jack stole Best Buy from them??

Pop Quiz: What Item was Standard Equipment on David Pearson & Dick Trickle Race Cars?

General

Fun thread. I remember Todd Bettenhausen, son of Gary, had posted a pic of an ingenius device they had come up with on the fly in order to allow Gary to smoke one during a long red flag one time later in the his career when full-face helmets were the norm in Indycar racing. Wish I could find that pic.

YOUR pick for Most Popular Driver?

General

Hard to not go with Tony. He's just the quintessential racer's racer. Travelled in time from the 50s and 60s to show the boys today what a race driver ought to be like. He is a champion on the track yet a down-to-earth person off of it.

Kudos for Penske! Kurt Busch out at Penske Racing

Administrative

Yea, I agree with y'all.. always thought it was highly unlikely of Bobby to do that sort of thing. Maybe it was indeed Bobby Unser lol.. we need to ask him about that during his next appearance on the goat rodeo!

I wonder if anyone can verify this but I once read that Bobby Allison supposedly punched Chris Ekonomaki sometime during the early 70s after he went to interview Bobby following a frustrating retirement at, Darlington, I think it was.

New driver considered to replace Kurt Busch in car #22

Current NASCAR

I'd love to see Reutimann get the ride. He's scored two wins with an upstart organization and got a raw deal in return. I'd love to see him get a better ride that will let him run more consistently.

That made me lol.

I am surprised though. Thought team owners had lost their guts lately when it came to bringing down the hammer on their championship drivers. Be scared Kyle, be very scared.
