Race Car # 307
General
Holy cow, Bobby, what an incredible transformation! Nice work sir.
Haha, I'll be thinking of you cringing the next time I hear permission for burning it down being granted over the radio.
I see your point Jim but I guess the team sees it as a 'reward' for the driver maybe? We sometimes hear the winning crew chief actually tell the driver to 'burn it down' with donuts after a win.
Agreed on Austin's faceplant being the stupidest of them all. One of these days he's going to land on his jewels and he'll quit doing it.
I have nothing against celebratory burnouts as they're damn exciting to watch but some of the new stuff that's evolved beyond that are childish and plain silly.
Would've been nice if the series sponsor were a more niche product instead of one with so many competitors, all of them potential big money sponsors that have to be shut out. But oh well, it is what is. With the economy, ratings and everything, glad to have a willing series sponsor at all.
Congrats sir and thanks for all your contribution to the sport.
Thanks Jay! Although $50 is almost double my limit of what I would pay for a DVD, this one is certainly special and I'm going to consider it. I'll also look for it on EBay and perhaps get lucky with a bargain.
I just remembered that back in 2008, SPEED had actually started a show called The Humpy Show where Humpy and his guests would talk about memorable stories from the old days. Unfortunately after the very first (and very entertaining) episode where Buddy Baker and Kurt Busch were guests, the show was cancelled.
I have a one hour recap of that meeting. Wish the whole thing was available for sale on DVD. Hilarious story that one by Buddy.
I see Roger having a long successful run with Brad and Paul Wolfe in the same vein as he did with Rusty for all those years. Kurt will probably be let go unless he matures a bit as he's not worth the trouble. Much rather have Brad lead the team with Hornish or Kligerman in the other cars if I were Roger.
