2-Man Bobsled Racing

General

The only thing I hated about the race weekend was the qualifing. 178 MPH is a joke at Talladega. They need to do something about that.

2-Man Bobsled Racing

General

I loved the racing. I don't see how a "Race Fan" could not like the racing at Dega. 88 lead changes and lots of passing. This is so much better than the Pack racing from a few years ago. The closing rate made for great racing and a guess who would make it to the line first. My guess is that if Jr would have won it would have been OK. He never said that he would push Johnson to the win. They did agree to work together and take turns in the lead. Jr was the one that told Johnson the the 2 cars were faster with Johnson in the lead. Johnson ask JR in the last few laps if he wanted him to leave him room as they came to the flag but Jr said no. If the Johnson/Earnhardt tandum had gotten away from the others I'm sure Jr would have made a move, he didn'tgetthat chance.

I loved it and the racing was great. This is as close to single car racing as we are gonna get and I can handle that. Don't put them all in one pack, 3 and 4 wide with no room to pass and call it a race. That was a waste.

Thanks to all for the congrats and warm wishes. That was a great race. The closing rate was unbelieveable!!! This made me look at restrictor plate racing a little differently, all the lead changes and great racing has me ready for Daytona. Big Thanks to Richard Petty Motorsports and Talladega for giving us this opportunity. We will be back! Go RPM!

Heard many stories about the LONG, LONG walk I can expect from the parking lot to the track. A little worried due to bad ankle. A 3" bolt and several wires and staples holding everything in place I hope I can make it wiyhout problems. If I have to crawl I'll be there.

I've never been to the stands to watch a race there. Been to 5 or 6 working on a crew, but never in the stands. Looking forward to it. Pray for safe travel.

I had to share the good news with everyone. I entered a contest put on by Talladega Superspeedway and Richard Petty Motorsports and WON!!! I receivec a envelop today from RPM with 2 tickets to the Nationwide race on Saturday and 2 tickets to the Sprint Cup race on Sunday. The seats are great seats, Talladega Tower, Section G, center of the Tri-Oval, and Row 60. And the seats are 1 & 2 on the isle. With the tickets was a breif letter addressed to me and signed by Richard Petty. I'm not sure what I'm more excited about, the tickets or the autograph. I was hoping for a meet and greet but I'm very happy with the prize.

Y'all look for me, I'll be the one standing and waving!

Question of the Day for March 30, 2011

General

Good point, it all depends on where you live. Our papers around Upstate S. Carolina didn't have much racing news at all unless it was race week at Daytona, Charlotte or Darlington, and then it was only qualifing and race results. Maybe a story leading up to a race about some Carolina boy hoping to make a race in the near future. I still think that today the media coverage is TOO MUCH.

I would love to see more history related stories. Can't get enough of those Big Cars.

Question of the Day for March 30, 2011

General

The media is saturated with racing news and coverage. I honestly believe that has a lot to do with the drop in ratings. When we had to look very hard to find any racing info I think it fed our hunger for the sport. Now with so many shows every day I tend to get tired of it and really don't care if I miss a show, after all the same info will be shown on another shaw that same day or the next. And with the internet we don't need any show to stay up with the sport. Maybe the media should drop a few shows and see if the fans start to hunger for it again.

The new Bristol

General

I didn't like the "Old" Bristol, to me the RACING is much better there today. I told people for years that I hated Bristol because the Pace Car led the most laps due to the wrecks. I heard somewhere that Bristol went 11 years, or 11 races, without a green flag stop. Either way I didn't like it. I'm stillnot a big fan, I prefer faster tracks myself butagree that short track racing deserves a place in the sport. But for me, I wish they ran at Richmond 5 times a year.
